Violence Prevention & Youth Committee
The Together Strong Project by Sarah’s Inn aims to prevent relationship violence.
It educates youth about the societal impact of their choices, equips them with tools for healthy living, and empowers them to make a positive community impact. We work with adolescents, educators and parents through school based violence prevention education programming, providing critical information on building healthy relationships and how to get help, if necessary.
Through Sarah’s Inn’s Together Strong Project we work in partnership with parents, educators and adolescents through school-based violence prevention education programming, providing critical information for adults and students on how to prevent relationship violence, how to protect themselves against potential harassment, and how to seek help if they are a victim of violence or abuse.

Training &
Education Program
The goal of Sarah’s Inn’s Training and Education Program is to improve the community’s knowledge of and response to domestic violence. We strive to provide community education that is survivor-centered and grounded in values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

40-Hour Domestic Violence Advocacy Training
The Illinois Domestic Violence Act (IDVA) requires all domestic violence service providers to complete 40 hours of training. The 40-hour training provides an overview of domestic violence, its impact and intersecting issues, as well as skills-based training to prepare participants for work directly with individuals who have been impacted by violence. Presently, Sarah’s Inn offers this training several times throughout the year to participants who commit to volunteering with us on our 24-hour Crisis Line. Visit our Volunteering page or contact volunteering@sarahsinn.org to learn more.
Volunteer20-Hour Partner Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP) Facilitator Training
The PAIP Facilitator Training provides individuals with the essential skills and tools necessary to facilitate partner abuse intervention groups, reviews the Illinois Partner Abuse Protocol, and teaches best practices for group co-facilitation. Visit our Events page to view upcoming training opportunities.
