All services are available in both English and Spanish. We will also use interpreting services as needed.

We provide services to anyone—our only eligibility requirement is that the person identifies as having experienced domestic violence.

Calling the Crisis Line

When you call the Sarah’s Inn 24-hour crisis line, a staff member or trained volunteer will make sure you (and your children) are safe, listen to your experience, and find out how Sarah’s Inn can help.

If you are ready, you can schedule an initial meeting with a Sarah’s Inn advocate. Once you meet with your advocate, they will be able to create a plan to support you. This could include a safety plan, emotional support, resources, short term advocacy, or learning more about counseling options.

How can I refer someone to Sarah’s Inn?

In order to initiate services, clients will need to call the 24-hour crisis line - 708-386-4225. We do not need a referral for a client to receive services.

If you would like to refer someone, you may call together with the client; however, we do need to hear from them directly and cannot “cold call” or set up appointments on someone’s behalf.

Under the Illinois Domestic Violence Act (IDVA), domestic violence service providers are bound to a very high standard of confidentiality. Therefore, we cannot disclose any information about a client without their consent, including confirming or denying whether or not they are receiving services with us.

Oftentimes, isolation is a means of control and beginning to work with an advocate is a way of disrupting that sense of isolation and finding connection again.

So even if you are not ready to end the relationship or to move out, call Sarah’s Inn at 708-386-4225 to begin getting the support and resources you need.
Is there a cost for services?
All services for survivors and their children at Sarah’s Inn are completely free and confidential.
Do you require any documentation or proof?
We do not require any documents or “proof” that abuse has occurred. We provide services based on the person’s self-report. 
Who is eligible for services?
Anyone who is experiencing domestic violence. We serve individuals of all genders, sexual orientations, and backgrounds.
I think my friend/family member/loved one/client is experiencing DV, can I refer them to Sarah's Inn?
In order to initiate services, the person experiencing domestic violence will need to call Sarah’s Inn on their own. If you have questions on supporting someone experiencing domestic violence, please call the Sarah’s Inn 24-hour crisis line at 708-386-4225.
